In the world of fitness, some gyms are built for business—but VELITE Fitness Center was built on a family legacy.
What began in 2019 as an apparel and supplement brand (VELITE ARMOR) has evolved into one of Puerto Rico’s most exciting new fitness destinations!
The idea of opening a gym originated in November 2024, when Javier Burgos and his father, Martín, envisioned a facility that would be more than just a weightlifting space.
Their goal was to create a family-oriented concept focused on elite performance, overall wellness, and fostering a vibrant local community.
After a full year of paperwork and preparation, the gym officially opened its doors on January 7, 2026.
“Fitness is deeply rooted in our family,” said Javier. “My father was a competitive powerlifter with over eight first-place titles to his name. I’m a runner and a weightlifter, and my sister (Yasmin) is a certified personal trainer.”
This deep-rooted family expertise ensures that every corner of VELITE is designed by people who actually train.
When it came time to open the VELITE doors, the location had to be perfect.
Situated in Ramey Base in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, VELITE sits at the heart of one of the island’s most active regions.
With a university directly across the street, nearby hotels, and a running track steps away, the gym has become a high-traffic hub for athletes.
Its proximity to the airport and the military base also makes it a premier choice for service members looking for a professional, off-base training environment.
To provide a “complete training experience,” Javier and Martín knew they couldn’t compromise on equipment.
They needed machines that offered a triple threat: functionality, durability, and aesthetics.
After consulting with Body-Solid’s International/Latin America Sales Manager Eddie Garcia, the team outfitted the facility with a massive lineup of Body-Solid Pro Clubline and commercial equipment, including dumbbells, leg extension/leg curl machines, leg press, Smith machine, preacher curl benches, and a ton of other essential strength-training equipment.

The equipment was delivered and supported by Coudersport, PA-based Body-Solid dealer SB Fitness Equipment, ensuring a seamless transition from vision to reality.
